A strategic area is Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, between the city of Verona and Lake Garda: the vineyards run on the hills, and to honor the most prestigious local product, the Amarone DOCG wine.

In addition to the excellent wines, Sant'Ambrogio is also known for its precious marbles, with a unique color and structure.

Since the first half of the thirteenth century, in fact, the stone is extracted here: the Lombard masters who had moved to Valpolicella for the research and purchase of local stones built a small church dedicated to their patron, Sant'Ambrogio, around which the town that still bears its name arose.

The whole territory is characterized by typical historical villages, such as Gargagnago (called the Borgo dell'Amarone), Monte and Ponton.
