Ponte Tibetano della Val Sorda

A unique emotion on a suspension bridge that connects the territories of Marano di Valpolicella and Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo.

Ponte Tibetano della Val Sorda

The Tibetan bridge, a classic engineering work suspended on ropes between opposite sides, is the first construction of its kind in Veneto and also among the rarities in our country, and connects the path system of Marano di Valpolicella with that of Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo .

It has a maximum height on the underlying vajo of 40 meters and is 52 meters long with a width of 70 centimeters, the handrail at 120 centimeters, and allows the double travel of two people who cross each other. This work is supported by four ropes in turn formed by a catenary of four steel wires with a diameter of 22 mm each.

To reach the trekking of the Tibetan bridge from Verona it takes 40 minutes. You leave the city on the side of Parona and follow it for Valpolicella. Climb up to Marano, then continue passing even San Rocco. After the latter from about 1Km, pay attention to the signs, because you will have to take a road on the left that descends towards Malga Biancari (Girotto - 592 m high), where you can leave your car.
