Summer has almost arrived on Lake Garda, and it’s the period of peaches.
These sweet golden fruits, fresh and juicy, originate from the Far East and are suitable for many preparations.
Below we offer you a recipe to make comfortably at home: an almond and peach cake.
- 250g of butter
- 200g of sugar
- 50ml of milk
- 6 eggs
- 80g of almonds
- 50g of starch
- 250g of flour
- Yeast to taste
To begin with, cut two very ripe peaches into cubes and cream them with 250 g of butter and 150 g of sugar, 50 ml of milk and 6 yolks.
Combine 80 g of peeled and chopped almonds, 50 g of starch and 250 g of flour; aside, whip the 6 egg whites until stiff and when they are very firm, add 50 g of sugar.
Mix well and finally add to the dough.
Finally also add a sachet of yeast.
Pour everything into a cake pan, previously lined with parchment paper.
On top of the dough place a couple of ripe peaches cut into slices and a couple of handfuls of flaked almonds.
Bake at 180 ° C for 50 minutes.
At the end of cooking, if desired, you can brush with warm apricot jam!
