Garda is always a strong attraction for international tourism and a destination for lovers of different sports, but certainly the first of all is mountain biking.

Throughout the year there are thousands of presences, who arrive in Garda to make a starting point for the different routes that embrace all the tastes of fans of this sport.

This is why the MTB Garda Marathon will take place here on April 5th, 2020, which together with the Granfondo MTB Città di Garda, will welcome an incredible number of bikers.

Two days of great cycling events to discover the Garda area and its beauties. The 58km Marathon route offers intense and strong emotions with a nervous and never banal route with 2,230 meters in altitude.

Compared to the previous edition, the route follows the same route eliminating some sections to make the race less nervous and suitable for being the first mountain Marathon.

You climb up asphalt towards Albisano and then continue towards Monte Luppia and between dirt roads and mule tracks you skirt the coast of Lake Garda going to the town of Crero. The ascent to San Zeno di Montagna has already started for about 1 km, with only a few short steep sections and others where strength and technique will make the difference. Leaving also the inhabited area of San Zeno alle Spalle, one divides from the Granfondo route and continues to climb.

The ascent continues without technical sections and at the same pace it climbs up to the ridge of Monte Baldo from where the view opens out over the lower Lake Garda.

From here you descend just below the town of Lumini which is reached with a short climb on asphalt. From here we head towards the Pineta Sperane where the real fun begins: between ups and downs you enter the Pineta Sperane along paths and mule tracks for about 2km and then take an unprecedented descent almost completely redesigned in the woods, reviving old paths now no longer in use and thanks to which the more technical sections of the original path have been avoided.

The end of the descent is fast but it is now over and soon you arrive first in Pizzon and then continue to the Dead Pine Forest which will be avoided thanks to a new dirt road. Going up to the highest part of Albisano, continue to the top of Monte Lenzino and accompanied by breathtaking views, go down to the golf courses. From here, little changes compared to previous editions going down to Garda from the Valle dei Molini to then face the last effort going up to the Rocca di Garda with some fairly steep but very good sections.

From here you go down to Camping la Rocca and from the Garda lakefront you return to Garda.
