HISTORY:
Toscolano Maderno is an Italian municipality formed, officially on 14 June 1928, by the union of two localities (Toscolano and Maderno), divided by the presence of a stream.
From a historical point of view, both towns boast ancient origins. As far as the locality of Maderno is concerned, one speaks of Roman times, while as far as Toscolano is concerned, the origin should even be traced back to the Etruscans.
Today, the municipality of Toscolano Maderno sees tourism as its main ally and the primary source of local employment. The first to realise the potential of these lands were the Germans, who at first simply began to frequent the area, until later flocking here more and more, in order to enjoy the excellent mild climate, especially in the autumn period, and to savour the products of the land.
