Lugana is one of the great Italian white wines, capable of satisfying with its different versions, still, sparkling and even Late Harvest, all tastes: Lugana knows how to be cheerful, light, sparkling but also a structured and deep wine to keep in cellar and enjoy after a few years, to grasp the nuances of an evolution that only wines of great character can offer.
The reference denomination for these wines is the Lugana DOC, placed between Veneto and Lombardy. The Lugana area affects the south coast of Lake Garda, between the provinces of Verona and Brescia: Lugana is in fact a fraction of the municipality of Sirmione (BS).
The reference variety is Trebbiano di Soave, a very versatile variety, with a good predisposition to aging and suitable for the production of dry wines as well as raisin wines and sparkling wines.
Lugana is a delicate wine with fruity aromas, full-bodied, fresh and pleasantly savory on the palate.
It has a bright color that over time takes vivid golden notes; great freshness, structure and variety of aromas, which can range between white flowers, citrus fruits and aromatic herbs, pulpy, juicy and sweet apples, up to complex sensations of flint, hazelnuts and almonds.
The Lugana DOC offers a basic type, a reserve, a late harvest and a sparkling wine, with which you can cover a complete range of combinations, from appetizers to first courses based on fish or vegetables, to white meats, also roasted, young or medium-aged cheeses. The late harvest is suitable to accompany small pastries or blue cheeses.
