Saffron is the most precious spice and its pungent flavour and intense colour make it an irreplaceable ingredient in cooking.
The area of the Garda morainic hills is considered particularly suitable for the cultivation of its plant, thanks to the Mediterranean microclimate due to the proximity of the lake.
Pozzolengo saffron, one of the best in Italy, is cultivated south of Lake Garda, in the municipality of the same name, and although it is still a product unknown to the general public, it is certainly a precious excellence that this wonderful land offers.
